Route Overview
The Washuzan Skyline (formerly Okayama Prefectural Route 393, Washuzan Park Line) is a scenic roadway approximately 18 kilometers long, running along the southwestern tip of Kojima Peninsula in Kurashiki City, Okayama Prefecture. Originally opened as a toll road in 1970, it has been open to the public free of charge since April 1995.
The route starts near the Kojima Interchange on the Seto-Chuo Expressway and leads toward multiple scenic viewpoints. Along the way, you can enjoy sweeping views of the Seto Inland Sea, the Great Seto Bridge, and the Mizushima industrial zone.
Recommended Riding Section
The stretch from Kojima IC to Washuzan Observatory is especially popular. The road winds along the ridgeline with many curves and elevation changes, offering open views on clear days of the Seto Inland Sea, scattered islands, the Great Seto Bridge, and even the Shikoku Mountains in the distance.
Mizushima Observatory is also a highlight for its spectacular night view, making this road attractive both during the day and at night.
Road Condition & Safety Info
