Tajima kaigan road (Tajima isaribi line)

Route Overview

Located in northern Hyogo Prefecture, the Tajima Coastal Road—also known as the “Tajima Isaribi Line”—is a scenic touring route stretching approximately 70 km from Kami Town to Takeno in Toyooka City. It runs along a rugged ria coastline, offering stunning views of the Sea of Japan and charming fishing villages. In summer, the coastline is beautifully illuminated by the glow of fishing boat lights, creating a magical nighttime view.

Recommended Section

The stretch from Kasumi to Takeno Beach is especially recommended. Riders can enjoy sweeping curves winding between cliffs, rocks, and the deep blue ocean. Notable scenic spots such as Kaeru Island and Imagoura Beach are easily accessible along the way and perfect for photo opportunities.

Road Conditions and Safety Tips

The road is mostly well-maintained, but there are sections with narrow lanes, blind curves, and tunnels. Take extra caution when riding in the rain or at night, especially due to wet pavement and bright lights from fishing boats offshore. Speed limits range from 30 to 50 km/h.
