Haruna Mountain Road

Route Overview

Haruna Mountain Road is a scenic route in Gunma Prefecture that connects Takasaki City to the Haruna Lake and Mount Haruna area. It mainly follows Prefectural Route 33 (Shibukawa-Matsuida Line) and Route 28 (Takasaki-Higashiagatsuma Line), climbing to about 1,100 meters in elevation. With many winding curves, it’s popular for driving, touring, and cycling.

You’ll enjoy a winding climb through the mountains, with changing scenery and cool mountain air. At the top, the drive around Haruna Lake offers great views of the lake and surrounding peaks.
