Route Overview
The Hakone Ashinoko Skyline is a scenic toll road about 10.7 km long, connecting Kojiri in Hakone, Kanagawa Prefecture, to Mikuni Pass in Susono City, Shizuoka Prefecture. Running along a mountain ridge at around 1,000 meters in elevation, it offers breathtaking views of Lake Ashi, Mt. Fuji, and Suruga Bay. This route is popular for both driving and touring, thanks to its panoramic landscapes and access to nature.
Recommended Driving Direction
Driving from Kojiri toward Mikuni Pass is especially scenic. As you ascend, Lake Ashi spreads below you, and further along, the silhouette of Mt. Fuji dominates the view. Early morning and late afternoon light create dramatic changes in the scenery.
