Route Overview

The Mt. Fuji Skyline is a scenic road in Shizuoka Prefecture that climbs the southwestern slope of Mt. Fuji, connecting Susono City to Fujinomiya City. The road reaches an altitude of over 2,400 meters at the Fujinomiya 5th Station. The total length is about 29 km, offering magnificent views of Mt. Fuji and surrounding nature.

Recommended Driving Section

The section from Mizugatsuka Park to the Fujinomiya 5th Station is especially recommended. As the road climbs higher, Mt. Fuji appears closer and more impressive with every turn.

Road Conditions & Safety Info

The entire route is paved and wide enough for cars and motorcycles. However, the many curves and high altitude require careful driving. The road is closed in winter (mid-November to late April) due to snow.

Best Season & Weather

The best time to drive is June to October. Summer to early autumn offers lush green scenery and clear views of Mt. Fuji. Autumn colors peak in early to mid-October. Mornings and evenings can be chilly, even in summer.
